You Can have it!
What if I told you I had something you wanted, and you can have it? Would you feel satisfied that I was giving you what you wanted?
I bet that at least some of you, want to know what I have, that you would want? Some of you might even not really care what I have – and even if I told you what I had; you wouldn’t understand anyway! And – there are some of you that would just be satisfied if I didn’t give you anything – however, you would be satisfied if you just knew what I had. Others wouldn’t care what I had; they would be satisfied that I just gave them anything! Then there are the picky people who will only accept what I have to give, ONLY if it is what they want.
GEEZ! What the heck do I have anyway?
A few years ago, I was listening to a podcast. There was this guy who lived in Vegas who was a licensed counselor being interviewed. The interviewer was talking about recovery from sex addiction and the guy being interviewed was telling how he could help people. It got my attention. However, he never really said how he could help, he just said he could help. Then, he had the gumption to make this statement. “I can help you with any problem you have.” “I have solutions…And I guarantee the results.”
Total Recall here: ME internal thinking – LIKE WOW! Really? Any problem? You bet I found that guy! I didn’t know what he had, but he had something I wanted. What did he have? Solutions! But really what did he have? I am still not sure I know what he had, to this day.
Here is the story. I got him on the phone to find out just what he had. I told him my struggles with bipolar and He still never told me what he had. He just said, “I can help you, let’s get started.” I said ok…”I have the exact amount you require to get whatever it is you have, even though I don’t really know what you have…except – you have something I want. Here was the caveat: – I trusted the source. The source? The podcast Interviewer who I had been listening to for years.
And so, I continued…I told the man,” I need to talk to my wife first, before I commit that kind of capital investment. I was thinking we would get started in the next month or two.” His response? “I was thinking we would get started next week!” I was thinking to myself; who the hell is this guy anyway? And what good comes out of Vegas? I repeated my plea that I needed to talk to my wife first, before I made any financial commitments. He quipped right back – “Don’t worry about paying me. Let’s just get started next week and you pay me when you can.”
And with that; I broke down in total and complete tears of relief. All the pain came undone in one long Big huge Full cry while this man sat on the other end of the phone. After what seems like a really long period of crying upon my reflection of that moment; When I was done crying, the man said “How do you feel now? My response? “I see the world differently.”
We went on a “12-week journey” with my wife and I receiving the best couple’s therapy we could ever ask for, by a professional health care provider. Now, I could tell you all about it, but it really doesn’t matter. Why you ask? Because it wasn’t about what the guy had. It wasn’t about the type of therapy that my wife and I received from this man. It was truly just about the fact that, my wife and I WANTED IT! Wanted what? IT! What is “IT?” US!
IT. IS. Truly. The. Gift. Of. A. Lifetime. For. US.
That’s the story. He gave US what he had. Healing.
So, what do I have that YOU Want?
IT’S JESUS! And…He lives inside me!
AND YOU CAN HAVE IT!
