Ok so I had my plan for FUN FRIDAYS! All figured out and then….I got locked out of my website.
Last week I told you about my friend calling me a hack. I hope you enjoyed that. However, I think the message wasn’t you are a hack, it was you are going to GET hacked! Sheesh. Talk about a blender of messages that was out in left field!
So, I got locked out of my website because it locked me out for trying to log in too many times. However, I never did try to login. It just kept taking me to the login screen. Anyway, so if you want to laugh….cuz I actually did, I guess I hacked myself? Read about that here: FUN FRIDAYS! – What’s Your Type? I had to pay freakin $39 to get my site fixed. Anyway that’s all over….here is what my real plan was for today….
Reflection: Collective Connections – Intro
My friend helped me with this: Is Billy Joel’s song Allentown about hope or faith? I used the word faith but what is faith without hope? What is hope without faith? I am hopeful that the song plants in you a mustard seed of faith. That is where faith starts. The Source of that hope and mustard seed of faith can come from many places. Each of us has our own path. This is my story. This is where I see that my faith journey began. How I got there was twisted but that is God’s business. He is the true guide.
“Allentown”
Well, we’re living here in Allentown
And they’re closing all the factories down
Out in Bethlehem they’re killing time
Filling out forms
Standing in line
Well, our fathers fought the second World War
Spent their weekends on the Jersey shore
Met our mothers in the USO
Asked them to dance
Danced with them slow
And we’re living here in Allentown
But the restlessness was handed down
And it’s getting very hard to stay
Well we’re waiting here in Allentown
For the Pennsylvania we never found
For the promises our teachers gave
If we worked hard
If we behaved
So the graduations hang on the wall
But they never really helped us at all
No they never taught us what was real
Iron and coke(not coal)
Chromium Steel
And we’re waiting here in Allentown
But they’ve taken all the coal from the ground
And the union people crawled away
Every child had a pretty good shot
To get at least as far as their old man got
But something happened on the way to that place
They threw an American flag in our face
Well, I’m living here in Allentown
And it’s hard to keep a good man down
But I won’t be getting up today
And it’s getting very hard to stay
And we’re living here in Allentown
So, here is the curious thing: You might expect me to link you to the song Allentown on youtube. Well, I was going to, but I found something even better.
Have a great weekend ALL!
