Are you Happily Alone and After?
What does that mean anyway? I don’t know! I just made it up. It seems to make sense. Does it even make sense? If it makes sense to me, does it have to make sense to you? NOPE.
Let’s explore it anyway, and see how this turns out.
On first thought, this is what Happily Alone and After, means to me:
Happily – First, the emotion of being happy comes to mind. Happy is a state that we all like to be in. Happy, can look different. Often, we think of being happy and associate it with a smile. YES, SMILE! Laughter and the word Joy would definitely be associated with being happy. I also would associate being content with being happy. Contentment might look like being satisfied with yourself and who you are. When you reflect on your life, mistakes, sadness, discord, and poor choices are part of your past, but you have done the work to repair your past and when you look into the mirror, you feel good about yourself. You are at PEACE.
Alone – Alone doesn’t sound that great when that word is looked at by itself. Alone is the state of being separated from others (solitary) unaccompanied, or without aid. Honestly? The word abandonment comes to mind when I think about being alone. BUT – what if we take away cultural interpretations of words? I would be willing to guess, most people think of the word alone, as a negative word. BUT – is it? What if we used the word exclusively to describe being alone? Now that sounds good doesn’t it? First, you have to ask yourself: Are you really alone? Maybe in many ways we might be. BUT – Jesus is always with me. He is just a prayer away. He can and will fill our emptiness when we feel and or are actually alone. All we have to do is ask Him.
After – This word sounds like having to wait! I mean, you do have to wait if it’s after right? Where is the happy in waiting? We live ina culture of instant gratification. Wait? What the heck is that? I hold personal beleif that waiting is one of God’s favorite tools. I 100% beleive that God uses waiting as method for producing FRUIT. The FRUIT of Patience. BUT – What if the word After is considered more to be in line with Pursuit? Pursuit of what? Pursuit of HIM! I don’t know about you… BUT – I AM AFTER MORE JESUS!
Here is what AI came up with on my Title for today – I promise I didn’t AI this before I wrote my thoughts.
“Happily Alone and After” sounds like a reflective phrase about life after something significant—usually a relationship, season, or identity—and discovering contentment on your own.
Here’s how it typically breaks down:
- “Happily Alone” → Not lonely, but genuinely at peace with yourself. You’re not depending on someone else for your sense of worth, stability, or joy.
- “and After” → Implies this came after something—like a breakup, loss, disappointment, or even just a major life transition.
Put together, it suggests:
Finding peace, identity, and even joy in being on your own after going through something that once defined or affected you.

I will admit that AI’s summary sentence does scare me a little bit. However, sometimes we don’t get to control outcomes. While the thought of the truth of this title brings me sadness, acceptance is what brings me peace.
Happily Alone and After?
So be it – God has a plan.
I will Happily follow with Him – His PATH – NOW.
