Look what’s standing behind me!
Now THAT is something you don’t see every day!
Last weekend, I had a great time walking through a dinosaur display at The Woods Of Terror/Mclaurin Farms just 1/3 of mile from where I live. They are close enough we can hear them roar at our house. Our visit was FUN! Today as I was reflecting on the pictures I took of creatures that once roamed the earth, I couldn’t help but think about some of the things I’ve encountered this week.
It’s been a challenging week. But I have been OK.
Liars and deceit. Toxic advice. A pastor embracing polygamy. And people rejecting Scripture because they’ve convinced themselves that their own self-serving views come from God.
WOW!
And I thought the dinosaur standing behind me was dangerous!
Here’s something to think about.
Just because something worked for you doesn’t mean it’s good advice for someone else.
Just because you believe something doesn’t make it true.
And just because you say God told you something doesn’t mean God actually did.
We need to be careful when we start confusing our personal experiences with God’s truth.
Because sometimes the most dangerous thing standing behind us isn’t a dinosaur. It’s an idea we’ve refused to challenge.
Have a FUN FRIDAY! and this weekend – look at yourself. Consider what is challenging you. Consider your beliefs. Consider the sources that are feeding your beliefs. Then, look outside those sources and test them against the truth. If you are unsure of the truth – look at the FRUIT!
I AM GOING TO HAVE BIG FUN THIS WEEKEND! I HOPE YOU DO TOO!
HAVE FUN!
