Jesus gave us Hope in the Sermon on the Mount.
- Jesus teaches us the Beatitudes – attitudes and Characteristics of those who are blessed by God.
- Believer’s are called to the “salt of the earth and the “light of the World” influencing the world with goodness and Truth.
- Jesus came to fulfill the law not abolish it. Righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisee to enter the kingdom of heaven.
- Jesus deepens the meaning of the law
- Jesus condemns hypocritical religious practices and teaches us how to pray. “The Lords Prayer.”
- Trust in God – Seek His Kingdom and Righteousness
- Jesus directs us to not Judge.
- Ask, Seek, Knock and it will be given
- The Golden Rule – “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
- Warnings and final Exhortations
- Narrow vs. wide gates (choose the path that leads to life).
- Watch out for false prophets (by their fruits you’ll recognize them).
- Not everyone who says “Lord” will enter the kingdom—only those who do God’s will.
- Wise builder: Build your life on Jesus’ words, like a house on rock.
