The Gift

On December 9, 2024December 9, 2024 By Phil MessingerIn Family, Gratitude, JesusLeave a comment

I shared my Grinchy Gripes with you last week. I laid out a strategy for myself to use to keep me out of that space. I have put in the work this past week. Probably the biggest thing I have done is nothing. Nothing? Yes, Nothing! What do I mean by that? I did not …

Tis the Season – Leftovers

On December 2, 2024December 2, 2024 By Phil MessingerIn Bipolar, Faith, Gratitude, Hope, Jesus, LoveLeave a comment

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. It always has been, and it always will be. I like this holiday because there is a focus on the family. Love is born again in the form of the presence of others and just being together. You know what else I like about Thanksgiving? Leftovers. There is always plenty …

Do you remember?  Do you remember when we met? Do you remember our first adventure together? Do you remember how long it took me to call you back? Do you remember our first date? Do you remember how close we were-like, ALL the time? Like totally up each the other’s butts! Do you remember how …

For me, TAC is an acronym. In its core, is the meaning of my children’s names. Tucker – Tucker is my oldest son. Naming your first child is unique experience. For me, I wanted my son’s name to be unique. My wife wanted Jacob. Jacob is a great name. I really do like it. Plus, …

On November 25, 2024November 25, 2024 By Phil MessingerIn Give Your Story, Gratitude, Hope, LoveLeave a comment

December 23rd 1995. I went to a friend’s house to find out our plan. I knew we were going out that night and I knew there would be a special guest. I rang the doorbell and my friends Mom answered the door. As I was being let in, I was informed that my friend and …

GIVE YOUR STORY - It Can Be Someones Hope.

Sometimes the story of how you made it through can help someone else believe they can make it through too.

I am Phil. I created Give Your Story because I've learned that our stories matter. Not because they're perfect. Because they're real.

If you're interested in Giving Your Story of Hope, you can email your story to Phil@giveyourstory.com following the provided story sharing guide below.

Story Giving Guide

Story Giving Guide: Your story can be about any topic. For your story to be considered it should include what happened, how you overcame the experience, and what it is like now. Your story can be submitted in a short paragraph or you can give more detail. Please keep your story to a 5 minute read (approximately 1000 words) maximum. This is a safe place to share your story. You may submit your story anonymously if you choose. Obscene words if part of the story may be altered or obscured. Negative feedback to a story of hope will not be tolerated. If your story is considered for post it may be edited for spelling, grammar, content and length. Thank You.

The purpose of Give Your Story is to create a safe space where individuals can share their personal stories, providing experience, strength and hope, to others facing life's challenges. The goal is to foster a community of support and inspiration through the sharing of stories that include what happened, how the person overcame the experience, and what life is like now. We can leverage the power of our stories to help others. While each person's story is unique, many of us share common threads. When someone shares their story, it often leads to identification, validation, and connection. The power of storytelling goes beyond personal reflection; it can provide motivation for change and offer solutions to similar situations. When you give your story, you offer someone HOPE. Together we can inspire hope in others, utilizing not only my own story but yours as well. By giving your story, we can collectively grow for the better. This platform encourages positive engagement and offers the option for anonymous submissions to ensure a secure environment.
