Anything that has to do with Music, is at the Center of Town in Nazareth PA at the Nazareth Music Center. Edith and her husband Ralph Brodt have been the face of music in Nazareth forever, as I recall. Ralph passed away some time ago, and this past week, Edith also went to be with our Lord.

As a kid, I knew Edith as the lady who chased you out of the kitchen at my church. Edith was always involved and was a leader forever as a member, of what we termed the Von Bora Society. Katherine von Bora Luther, or also known as the wife of Martin Luther – the reformer of the catholic church to create the Lutheran Church. The Von Bora Society in my church, was for all simple purposes, the Kitchen crew. They were the ones that served the meals at every event.

If I am honest, I had more of a relationship with Ralph than Edith. Besides, my memory of her chasing me out of the kitchen and making sure everything was put back in the EXACT same place as an adult, I always respected Edith and her family and the service they brought to my home church. We always had pleasant exchanges.

Edith is what I consider, one of the Pillars of the church I grew up in. Of course their family provided music service to our church (and still does). Edith was always on the Choir – Every Sunday forever. What holds BIGGER in my memory is seeing Edith at every single meal I can think of no matter what day and no matter what the event the church had. After church socials, funerals, church meetings, Lent breakfasts on Wednesdays and anything that had to do with food service, Edith was always there. Forever.

This week was a a good week and I did have fun and enjoy myself in my travels. You might ask; “What is so fun about this post?” Here is what is fun:

This is the face of Jesus in service. Jesus served others. Service to others is the face of Jesus. I choose to see the face of Jesus in those who are emanating Him. When I do this, I end up having FUN! Try it! When you see the face of people who serve you as the face of Jesus, it changes you into a more pleasant human being and brings your guard down and gives you the ability to Have Fun!
