FUN FRIDAYS! – Who’s Idea Was This Anyway?

Last night around 11pm my youngest son was headed to bed and he came back down the steps to tell me there was going to be a blood moon at 2:25am Friday morning. My response: “So you’re telling me you want to get up at 2:25 in morning to see this thing?” His response with a wide smile, “Yes.” So thats what we did. We set the alarm for 2:45am for best viewing time and my wife and I grabbed our son and went out the front door of the house to get a view of the Blood Moon of 2025.

Honestly, the pictures I took are not that great and certainly don’t give the spectacular-ness and beauty of the event. We did however, get to be witness.

I want to take this opportunity to review Peter’s Sermon in Acts 2 which is a repeat of the Prophet Joel’s words as the fulfillment of the Prophecy.

Joel 2:31 NIV

31 The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

Acts 2:20 NIV

20 The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

This is the part of the Prophecy in Joel’s words and Peter’s Sermon that has not been fulfilled. We are still waiting. Interesting find when I inserted these verses. Anybody notice the difference in one word between the two scriptures? I find it interesting.

A blood moon in the science world simply means the earth is shadowing the moon from the sun. The sun’s light refracts through the atmosphere still reaching the moon. Red and orange colors are the result of the refraction and cause the moon to look reddish-orange in color. Ancient cultures named this phenomena “Blood Moon” and associated spiritual meaning to it. For us Christians, this is just science.

Best I can tell, Jesus has not returned today. There is always Hope, as we trudge on, doing our best to LOVE ONE ANOTHER as we wait for Our Jesus.

It’s just science. And Science Rocks.
