This is my son’s new tattoo!

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

I think it is really kewl. Historically as a parent, I have lived vicariously through my children – experiencing the things I missed out on growing up – due to not having a father. In my early 20’s, I considered getting my left ear pierced. My friend did it, but something caused me to not take that action. Tattoo? Never on my radar.

Social considerations for piercings and tattoos has considerably changed in the past 30 years. I do have to say, while I am not ready to run out and get a tattoo, there is a part of me that wouldn’t argue it, if I were sitting in the chair ready to get a cross inked on my skin.

This is how I got to vicariously live out this event. My son asked me, “right or left bicep?” I said, “left”. He said, “ok”. He got it put on his left bicep, and then asked me why I picked that side. I really have no clue why. It seemed like the right place to put it.
