A few weeks ago, I answered a topic question in an online group I am part of. Here was the question:

What are the differences between a partnership marriage and a roles based marriage?

Here was my Answer:

Partnership = More Like Jesus
Roles-based = More Like Law

A woman in the group answered my comment with, “Wish I could have thought of this one.”

Today I was walking the beach with my youngest son. As we were walking, an elderly gentleman with a metal detector, all decked out ready to find his treasure, joined our walk. He was walking almost in-stride with us, about 15-20 feet away. He had his headphones on, and never paid any attention to us. As we approached a choke point were our paths joined, I decided to approach this man for FUN. I asked him, “What’s the best thing you ever found?” Without hesitation and almost before I could finish my words… the man blurted out:

“MY WIFE” with a big HUGE smile, as he kept on walking.

Now mind you, I am super grateful for “MY WIFE.”
