Today I would like to take the time to honor a special man who has been a key link in my faith journey.
Pastor Danny Janes is the man who blew me out the pew for the past 10 years. Pastor Danny Janes is the man who is a primary stake holder in how I found Jesus. Pastor Danny Janes served our church Liberty Wesleyan, for 16 years leaving a legacy of harvest ministry at his retirement.
Pastor Danny exudes:
You are Brother – Spiritual Fruitfulness (Galatians 5:22–23)NIV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
You are Brother – Faithfulness to the Word and calling (2 Timothy 4:2) NIV
2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
You are Brother – Health of the congregation (unity, maturity, service)
Liberty Wesleyan has grown in congregational size and I for one speak of the unity within the church, maturity of not only myself, but others in personal spiritual growth and service. You leave us with a board that is balanced with equality: 4 women and 3 men serving with the heart for Jesus.
You are Brother – Kingdom impact (lives changed, gospel spread)
I can certainly speak from experience in life changed and gospel spread. You have been the example I have watched. I have also seen this in many others during our past 10 years at Liberty. I will never forget the Sunday you didn’t even get a chance to preach. Instead, the congregation did it for you with their testimony. What a wow. It was an honor to have you in our Sunday School class as the “go to guy” to fill in the blanks and get correct perspective.
IMPACT? I love you Danny. The tears finally well up in my eyes. You will be missed. Your ministry at Liberty – It is finished. Your legacy will live on – IN ME – IN US.
