FUN FRIDAYS! Have You Seen This Dog?

WELL, NOW YOU HAVE!

Don’t you wish life were that simple?

Originally this was my Post for today. That’s it. Simple Fun. That was my plan.

Maybe, I was going to tell you that a lady gave me a card with this message on my birthday. Maybe, I was going to tell you that this lady gave me the card at the football stadium at a high school football game, and it made my day. It made my day, because she remembered. It made my day, because it was totally up my alley.

Then I proceeded to walk around for the rest of the night, showing the card and asking people, “Have you seen this dog?”

However, I have had writers block for a little bit, if you will. I haven’t been able to write. I have been getting up early to write and I sit and stare at the computer and “nothing”. So, I have been reading and researching instead. Today I feel different. Today I am ready. And you may not be surprised that I see something deeper in this message.

John 10:14-15 NIV
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.

I had a great conversation with a friend yesterday. We shared our troubles with each other. We talked about how we used to handle these troubles. We used to numb them out with sexually compulsive behaviors. We used to numb them out with anger. Maybe drugs. Maybe alcohol. Maybe, just escape by isolating. Whatever it was that we did to cope with our troubles, it was unhealthy.

In the past week during my block, I have come up with a concept that is not new to me. It is not new to any of us-really. It is just something that we often seem to forget. We get trapped in worldly thinking. What is the answer to our troubles? What should our response be when problems creep into our lives? This is what I came up with:

Replace it with God.

You C, this is how I translate the question, “Have You Seen This Dog?”:

Do You Know Me?
Have I allowed God into my heart?
Have I allowed God to truly Know me?

We all know that He Knows us, no matter what. He Knows our heart regardless, if we “allow” Him to Know us or not. However, when you do lay it down, and allow Him in,

You will Know other Christians, and they will Know you. You will Know your Father, and He will Know You.

I hope you have a FUN FRIDAY and a pleasant weekend.
