I have decided to to do an expanded short version of the Bible Summary in 30 seconds. Over the course of the coming weeks, I will give the story of the Bible in a short 2-3 minute read format. God Creates
The Bible begins with the Perfect Story of Creation.
The first book of the bible Genesis, is where the scripture of the creation story is found.
1. Genesis 1:1 NIV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God is the Creator. Everything starts with God. He Created with His Word. He is the Source. This sets the foundation for FAITH.
2. Genesis 1:3 NIV
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
This is more than the mere sun being created. God is foreshadowing His salvation through The Son. This is the first reference to Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the light.
3. Genesis 1:26-27 NIV
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Every female and male are created equally in the image of God. Your worth is given. YOU MATTER.
4. Genesis 1:31 NIV
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good…
God’s original design is goodness. Evil was not His plan. Brokenness is temporary. Restoration is possible.
5. Genesis 2:7 NIV
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
God has an intimate relationship with each and every person He creates. It’s not just His Word. It is His breath. You are uniquely created by God. This is God’s Intimacy with you.
6. Genesis 2:18 NIV
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone…
Seemingly contradictory, this is the first thing that God calls not good. However, the bible is not contradictory. The message here is that we were created for Relationship – Relationship with others. More importantly, he wants a relationship with YOU. More Intimacy.
7. Genesis 2:15 NIV
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Work existed before sin. God has a purpose for us. We all have a Calling. Calling is not punishment. Calling is His design for CREATION.
God is Creator. You bear His Image. Creation is Good. He Restores what is not good.
