FACE TO FACE WITH GOD.
In the middle of the description of the scripture of the Spiritual Gifts we receive in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 through 14, is a transitional scripture verse found in 1 Corinthians 13:12.
1 Corinthians 13:12
12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (Bold text my emphasis)
The point of this scripture sitting in the middle of the description of the Spiritual Gifts we receive, is to separate the temporary from the permanent.
Paul is telling us:
Spiritual Gifts are temporary. God’s Love is Eternal.
Spiritual Speaking:
Right Now
- We misunderstand
- We struggle
- We see through a dim mirror
One Day
- Clear Vision.
- No Shame.
- FACE TO FACE.
- FULLY SEEN, FULLY LOVED.
Spiritual Gifts help us serve God now. Accepting God’s Love is what we step into when we are finally home with Him.
Jesus came to take our shame and show us Love. When we set our shame aside and give it to Him, that is the acceptance of the LOVE of Jesus that we rejected by hiding ourselves from God. (Adam and Eve hid in the Garden after they sinned)
Being fully known is what we step into when we’re finally home with Him.
where nothing is hidden (Heb. 4:13),
nothing is condemned (Rom. 8:1),
we see Him face-to-face (1 Cor. 13:12),
and shame is no more (Isa. 61:7).
When we stop hiding our shame and seek HIS TRUTH, we can receive FULLY, the Love of Jesus and…
WE ARE FACE TO FACE WITH GOD.
