I was looking up the word desire and it occurred to me, that our inner desires, has much to do with our level of comfort.
Definition:
Desire – a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.
Alternate Definition:
“Typically, we tend to think of desire as an emotion — that is, arising from our mental status, akin to affection or anger or grief or surprise or ecstasy. But this is probably not the case. Many scientists and psychologists now believe that desire is, in fact, a bodily urge, more analogous to hunger or the blood’s need for oxygen.” (Reference https://www.healthline.com/health/what-is-desire#The-Scent-of-Attraction)
On a personal note, I have been uncomfortable in my Spiritual Life for quite some time. What it comes down to, is I want something to happen, aka desire. Exactly what I want to happen is unknown. While I have a general idea what I am looking for, I am open to any improvement, better than the current status. Currently, the outlook doesn’t look any better. As much as I keep praying for improvement in this area, I am stagnate moving backwards, as situations continue to evolve in the opposite direction.
How does this make me feel? Uncomfortable.
There is but only one answer. That is Faith in Him. So let me sit in my desire, and transform the discomfort, into the purpose of why I write. Without desire, there can not be Hope.
HOPE and reliance on Him.
