Today for fun, I wanted to show you my stats and tell you what has been going on behind the scenes.
Last Wednesday I was working from home and while I was working on my work computer I had my Giveyourstory.com stats page up on my personal computer. I stared at the stats all day. Waiting for visitors. Waiting and Waiting. Do you know how many visitors I had between 6am and 5pm? One. You know who it was? Me! Now, I hadn’t been knocking it out the park with my average of 10 visitors a day with some spikes as high as 70 visitors a day when I would do some social media thing. But nothing? Ok, so I know I need more content but I do have over 40 posts you can read.
Here are my top 5 Posts:
Please note that Prayers for Wayne views are a TOP view with somewhere in the 175 view range. I am not 100% sure on this stat but I should be close. I had some reposting issues that messed up the stats on prayers for Wayne. Thank you for your prayers for Wayne.
#1 The Story Simply put it is a summary of the Bible submitted by my friend. This post has over 250 views.
#2 FUN FRIDAYS! – Pillars – All my FUN FRIDAYS! are well viewed with over 400 views between them all. Pillars has 125 views and counting. Also note: I am currently working on labeling my FUN FRIDAYS! with a subtitle so you and I can find them better.
#3 A Miraculous Encounter on the River – My personal near death story. This post has over 115 views.
#4 To Smile – A story about a man who smiles and the hope for my christian brother. This post has over 110 Views
#5 Do You Know Your Calling? – A story about a letter I wrote about a man from my home church. This post has 109 views.
So, I went on a hunt. I found an Advertising group out of Canada that claimed they could do over 10x the traffic I was getting in 7 days in one day compared to what I was getting from another advertising group. They also claimed they could do it for 30 days for essentially the same price I was paying for the 7 day advertisement campaign. After checking out the reviews which were somewhat of a mixed bag, I figured for the dirt cheap price they wanted for the claim they made, I have nothing to loose.
My goal from the ad campaign was simple. with my lack of traffic, I had no Search Engine Optimization (SEO). If this company could bring people to my site I could at least get an SEO going. Without SEO google doesn’t recognize your site. I started my ad campaign with the Canadians on the afternoon of Wednesday June 12th. It took off that afternoon.
So far according to my stats we have had readers from at least 28 countries. It feels like there has been more visiting countries but the stats tracking programs I am running (I have 3) are reporting differently since I started using each program at different times. You also have to keep in mind that advertising is done based on where ever the cheapest market is. Instead of focusing on one or several markets, I chose the entire world just to see what I would get.
Here is what I think is closest stats for my Top 5 visiting Countries Since June 12th:
#1 USA – This is the primary market I am after as I do live here, but from my understanding since we have #1 position in the world on economy this is the place to be present. Over 1300 hits from the USA! Thank You USA!
#2 Taiwan – I was pleasantly surprised but yet not, to see Taiwan. Advertising cost may be lower here not sure but I also think that Taiwan really needs Hope. If you are watching the news I need not say anything else on this point. Taiwan checks in at 239 Users. Thank You Taiwan! I hope for you!
#3 Ukraine – I was not surprised by Ukraine being high on the list as they do need a lot of Hope. Ukraine checks in with 57 visitors. Can you believe one of my analytics does not report Ukraine visits to my site? Not sure what’s up with that! Thank You Ukraine!
#4 Australia – Australia has been out in the bush so to speak. Slow to rise to the occasion. They check in with about 37 views. Thank You Aussie Land!
#5 Germany/UK – I am going with the theory that Germany and the UK are expensive to advertise in their market. Just 9 visitors from the UK and 11 from Germany. Interestingly the ad for the ad campaign I chose said Germany was a primary market they were going to target. I guess not? Hope to see more of you folks. Thank you to those who made it from the UK and Germany!
I like what I see from the below chart. There is one stat I am unsure of that is not shown. There are a lot of variables that go into all these stats and I am still learning all about it. Things like the numbers on the chart are not real! LOL. They are estimates and then there is a view that is worthless compared to a view that is engaged and so on.
So I am either getting SUPER hosed by a bunch of Canadians or I am CRUSHING IT! since June 12th. I will say that the numbers don’t appear to lie as the three analytics programs I am using are reporting similar data.

#2 I am rolling out a new product for the site. I am hoping to have it up by the end of next week. I am excited and I hope you like it and order.
