Last week was the first time I missed a FUN FRIDAYS! post. It’s not that I am not having fun. I have just been really busy. It’s been a busy summer. I am wore out physically from the hard work I have been doing. My body is sore and sleeping in a little, is a thing for me mid summer. Here is one of the projects that caused me to miss last Friday’s post:
I started a project on June 9th. I worked on it, on and off through all the rain, sometimes just a couple hours at a time. I finally finished the deck for the pool this past Saturday.

10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty
I need Him – I can not do it all by myself. His presence was provided through my family.
I never built a deck in the air before. I am pretty happy with the results. I am a bit hard on myself as I give myself overall a grade of B. There are issues.
Here is how I grade myself in other areas:
- One pole is off causing a squaring issue that follows the entire project – However, I get an A for covering it up!
- I also give my self an A for the structure of the deck. It is very sturdy!
- I give my wife and my youngest son an A for their design, support and assistance.
Thank you family for assisting:
- My Daughter did some errands.
- My wife helped with design, some physical support and a lot of moral support, sometimes just sitting there while I worked.
- My oldest son helped with the more significant structural parts. Hole placement for poles, and structural supports of the deck.
- My youngest son gets the award for most helpful. He put a lot of time in along side of me. He even helped me solve some of the challenges.
I urge you to consider your own limitations – asking for help – seeking Him as the Power.
