This past Sunday my family and I celebrated VICTORY! A Celebration of Victory that was a long time coming! We celebrated Victory for Wayne! We celebrated with Wayne with a fun day at the race!
In May of 2024 Wayne became ill with acute pancreatitis. Wayne spent 4 months in the hospital battling his illness. Wayne faced death several times during his fight. Our Prayers you can read about here, –> (Prayer Link) rang out and our hope was steady. God’s grace granted Wayne favor to return home that September. His road to recovery has been long.
THE VICTORY IS SWEET!
I had this conversation with a friend this week. I was telling him about my interaction with a man who has been at my house several times doing business. I was telling the man about the general scenario of our Spiritual Battle since he was here during one of the events. In addition, the man happens to be a brother in Christ. I told the man, “God is Good.” Followed by – “But he could be better.” The man and I had a good chuckle over that one! My friend responded to my story with a cackle and said:
Yeah, I have really great advice for God. I have so many awesome ideas for Him. How He could do things so much better, if he would just do it my way!
Of course there was much laughter as my friend was placating for me.
The biggest question we always have when we are in Trial is WHY?
Why did Wayne have to struggle for 4 months?
Why did Wayne face death multiple times?
Why did his wife and others have to suffer in his pain?
Why did it have to be 4 months instead of 19 days?
Why are we in this Spiritual Battle?
Why do we need to go through this?
What is the purpose for this pain, God?
For Wayne, there have been so many Silver Linings that we have witnessed. I am quite sure, Wayne could give us a list of his own. I for one, could just give you One simple Silver Lining of Wayne’s journey:
- I have made a friend.
Psalm 66:10 NIV
10 For you, God, tested us;
you refined us like silver.
