FUN FRIDAYS! – When at first you think you know, look -look again.

I have this friend who likes to greet hikers coming at him in the other direction with “Good Morning”, when it’s really the afternoon or evening. He gets a gas out of the fact that 99% of the people will respond with “Good Morning” or “Hello” and keep on moving and never give it another thought. Every once in a while, someone will look again and stop and say, “It’s afternoon” or they call him out to correct time of day or they laugh and actually know it’s a joke.

What I have to show you today, is the latest and greatest BIG Scare technology for haunted houses. Some of you know that I live near the BIGGEST and #1 Haunt in North Carolina called, The Woods of Terror. It is also a very well known Haunt across much of the USA. Especially in the world of Haunts. We know the owner fairly well. This bit of news that I have does not come from that source.

Last week while I was traveling in Pennsylvania, I went and visited my Mom. She still lives in our old neighborhood, though in a different house than I grew up in. Since I was sitting around all day at a conference, and then driving for an hour and half to get to her house, I wanted to get a little exercise. I decided to go for a walk in the old neighborhood. I didn’t make it very far.

As I was just a short distance from my Mom’s house, I saw a man “walking his dog?” I wasn’t sure what I was seeing. It looked like an animal, most likely a dog, but yet -wait was that a bear? Then it moved in a way that was not natural. It looked like an animation of Scooby Doo scrambling. I had to LOOK AGAIN. What the heck was this thing? As I rounded the corner of the intersection, I could hear the sound of a motor and I could see the guy holding a remote control.

I exclaimed, “JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU SAW IT ALL!”

It was a life sized remote control BOAR. For a minute, all I could do was laugh and make statements of disbelief at this thing. It definitely falls into the category of KEWL MONKEY. Then I said, “You could really scare the crap out of someone with that thing!” To which he responded, “Well that’s what it’s for!” He then informed me that he is an architect for his day job and for his FUN JOB, he owns the Lincoln Mill Haunt in Philadelphia. And wouldn’t you now it, he knows the owner of The Woods of Terror.

It was a fun interaction and connection.

Sometimes you just need to LOOK AGAIN!

If you are not sure, LOOK AGAIN! Have a FUN FRIDAY! and keep Kewl this weekend!
