This past Sunday my wife and I attend the MOST FUNNEST WEDDING!

The last of my close family friend’s daughters Jil, got married this past Sunday. I grew up with the parents of the bride. I changed all their daughters diapers to put it into perspective for you. They were like family growing up. We have no blood relationship, but we consider each other family.

I never met the groom until the day of the wedding. The grooms brother who I had also never met, was the Best Man and gave the classic loving brother speech as one would expect. At the end of the speech, the brother gave the famous last line most speeches end with when speaking to the new family member. “Welcome to the family.” EXCEPT:

Instead of saying “Welcome to the Family Jil.”, He said, “Welcome to the family Phil!” As a brief awkward silence entered the air, the brother made a quick recovery on his mistake, and said, “Where is Phil anyway?” To which our table erupted in cheers and hoots and hollers as the entire wedding crowd busted out in laughter… He quickly corrected himself and Welcomed Jil to the family. And I became Family Phil for the rest of the evening.
