Today I listened to a friend of mine talk to her late husband, in a recorded convo they had several years ago. The Convo was about head knowledge verses heart knowledge. My friend Jackie Trottmann @ guidedchristianmeditation.com, was planning an online course. This also ended up being a one day online conference my wife and I participated in around that time.
What struck me most about The Convo with her husband Robert, was the connection with the word emotion. Robert was discussing how he would like to know God’s presence. Robert talked about wanting to feel God’s presence. He longed for this feeling of God, that he thinks others feel that he was not feeling and had not felt very often throughout his life. He applied the word emotion to this feeling. He wanted to feel God through his emotions.
Robert then reflected on a God experience he had at the beach, that was unlike any other experience he ever had; 49-50 years previous when he was just 21 years of age, he had an awesome experience of feeling God. After the high of reflecting on this moment, there was a sense of disappointment present. In the background of The Convo, was construction equipment clanging and safety back up signals beeping. It was noisy. All of the sudden Robert blurts out “FROG.” And the construction equipment silenced just long enough you could hear the frog’s song. As Jackie confirmed the frog sighting, Robert said, “Thank you frog, for letting me know of your existence, because God made you.” “And that’s the one I have been hearing and I finally got to see you.”

Friends, God has shown me the way. He has given me the ability to tell you that Jesus is the way. He has given me the gift of praising Him and blessing others through the gift of writing. Together we can build up the Church!
Yesterday, we asked the why, now we need to ask the how!
Maybe, our friend Robert has an answer for us. Robert is an emotional guy. He gets very emotional over things. Robert suggested in his convo with Jackie, that maybe:
We feel our feelings as a feeling of God’s Love, rather than an inferior weakness often associated with emotions.
Maybe there is something special in that thought. Maybe God is inside our emotions and all we have to do is let Him in!
