Do you remember the last time you were really embarrassed? Do you remember how that felt?
Think about the circumstances. Were you right? Were you wrong? Did you present yourself correctly, or did you misfire? Did someone shame you for what someone else did, or did you cause the circumstances?
As I reflect and think about those questions, the truth comes to mind. When we speak the truth, that is God – the Spirit of truth.
How can we know who is speaking truth and who is not? How can we tell the difference?
Quite frankly, I do not know the quick answer. However,
the Spirit of truth will always reveal itself
Have you ever thought about how Jesus felt as the Roman crowd yelled “Crucify him?” Have you ever asked yourself, how did Jesus feel (besides the pain) as the soldiers beat, stripped Him of his clothes and tortured Him on the cross?
Did you ever wonder how Jesus felt, when in fact he did nothing wrong?
All He did was Love.
Did you ever wonder if Jesus felt shame? Did you ever wonder if Jesus was embarrassed? What about the immense sadness he must have felt because the people could not see? What about the intense dejection, loneliness and grief he felt?
He had the strength; He had the power. Yet, He chose to surrender.
Yet, He chose to love.
What is the truth? The truth is in the FRUIT.
The truth is, in His weakness, He rose from the dead.
The truth is, in His weakness, love prevailed.
The truth is, He will give an advocate – the Spirit of truth.
The truth is, He will come again.
Those who know Him will know the truth.
John 14:17 the Spirit of truth.
That’s where we are going.
Because it matters…
