Week of 8-4-24
Wayne – Continued Prayers for Wayne – he is off the ventilator Praise 1! Praise 2- Wayne now has a voice box in his trach and can speak. Still on. Along road for his recovery. Challenge now is finding a facility that will take Wayne due to his trach. The outlook is positive for Wayne at this time. Can I get an AMEN!
This is Wayne! I found this picture of me and Wayne from October 30th 2022 Martinsville race. Neither of us knew each other would be at the race. We ended up parking almost next to each other and our seats where close as well. I found this while cleaning off my phone to make space this weekend and wanted to share it with you. This is who you have been praying for. THANK YOU.

Donna – Donna is my friend from my previous Job. I keep in touch with her periodically. Donna’s husband had developed pancreatic cancer. The last time I spoke to her was late June. We were work buddies. My cubicle was on the other side of hers. We swapped jokes and stories and on my 50th birthday my wife had given me a Happy Birthday pin to where all day. When I got to work, I took it off. I told Donna about it and she told me to put the F$%&^& Pin on. So, I did it. I took a picture of myself with her in the background and sent it to my wife as a funny….Like I was listening to my Mom or something….Donna is 65 and about ready to retire. I found that picture on my phone this weekend while cleaning off my phone and sent it to Donna for fun. Her reply included the fact that her husband passed away on July 7th. It absolutely broke my heart. In our text exchange I told her I just didn’t know what to say. Imagine this…She comforted me…the woman who lost her husband comforted the guy who was just a work friend who felt the hurt. She told me to let it settle in and we will talk soon. I absolutely cannot wait to talk to her this week.
KerNa – Kerna with emphasis on Na is our Haiti sponsored child. We received a letter from the mission that her mission facility no longer meets the standards of the mission and they can no longer support Kerna financially. I am fearful for her village that it has been impacted by the gangs and violence. I honestly want to get in a plane and go get her. I know I can not do that but that is what’s in my heart. SIGH.
